Daniel Serota

Daniel Serota is part of the next generation of leadership at Serota Properties. He is the Founding Principal and President of Serota Development, LLC, a premier real estate development firm with a longstanding reputation for delivering first-class retail, office, and residential properties across the United States. As a privately held, family-owned business, Serota Development owns and develops a diverse portfolio of commercial, office, residential, and industrial properties, with a steadfast commitment to excellence in the real estate market. Under Daniel's leadership, the firm has spearheaded numerous high-profile projects, including the Dupont Estates Residential Community, Brookville Estates, multifamily and mixed-use developments in New York City, as well as various other notable ventures throughout the country and New York.
Alongside his work with Serota Development, Daniel recently established Serota Ventures, LLC, a family office founded with his sons, Stephen and Jonathan, to broaden the family’s footprint in real estate and alternative investments. Serota Ventures focuses on a range of real estate projects, from traditional residential and commercial developments to innovative mixed-use and value-add opportunities. Additionally, the firm invests in venture capital, supporting early-stage companies across various sectors. This multifaceted approach allows Serota Ventures to drive meaningful growth in both real estate and emerging industries, positioning the Serota family for lasting impact across diverse markets.
Beyond his professional career in real estate, Daniel has dedicated a significant portion of his life to public service. After serving more than six years on the Village of Brookville Planning and Architectural Review Board, Daniel was elected Trustee and subsequently appointed Deputy Mayor. His leadership and passion for his community culminated in his election as Mayor of Brookville in 2013, a role he has held through successive re-elections in 2017 and 2021. As Mayor, Daniel also serves as Police Commissioner of the Brookville Police Department, where he plays an instrumental role in ensuring the safety and governance of the village. His years of service have earned him a reputation for his strong leadership, tireless work ethic, and unwavering dedication to his community.
In addition to his public service, Daniel has fostered meaningful partnerships within the education and nonprofit sectors. For over a decade, he has maintained a close relationship with the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), acting as a key supporter of the School of Osteopathic Medicine and its scholarship programs. His philanthropic efforts extend further as a Director for the Nassau County AHRC Foundation, an organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. Daniel is also a philanthropic supporter of the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center at Columbia University Medical Center, and additionally St Francis Hospital, part of the Catholic Health System. Furthermore, he serves on the Executive Board of the Association for a Better Long Island (ABLI) and the Nassau County Village Officials Association (NCVOA), where he has held positions as both Past President and Treasurer.
Daniel holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He remains actively engaged with his alma mater, having served on the Real Estate and Financial Alliance Board of Directors and the university’s prestigious Luther Rice Society.
